Is Howard Stern Going To Be Part Of MCU’s Doctor Doom?

Howard Stern has had a busy couple of days. After making his unofficial bid for the presidency, the comedian and talk show host has now revealed that he might become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On the latest episode of the Howard Stern Show, the 68-year-old let it slip that he is a part of a movie involving Doctor Doom.

Of course, this has sent fans into a tizzy, given that they have been hankering for the supervillain to make his debut. While the recent introduction of the Illuminati and Mr Fantastic did give us hope, Stern’s comments have now all but confirmed who’s the new big baddy of MCU.

Stern was quoted as saying, “They’re going over the schedule with me, and it’s going to suck… I told you, I’m going to do Doctor Doom. That’s the thing. But believe me, I’m fucking miserable about it… I called Robert Downey Jr. and I was asking him about acting techniques… Do you have a number for Jon [Favreau]?”

Viktor Von Doom or Dr Doom was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in 1962 for The Fantastic Four #5. The supervillain was shown to be the primary antagonist of the Fantastic Four, ruling over the fictional nation of Latveria. Apart from being royalty, Doom is also shown as a brilliant scientist and a man of charisma. While we did see a live-action interpretation of him in two instalments, fans were never able to buy into Julian McMahon or Toby Kebbell’s performances.

If the recent Marvel movies have given us any cues, it’s that we’re slowly headed for the ‘Secret Wars’ event, an Endgame-esque culmination of the recent phase. It’ll be interesting to see how Stern fits into all of this. However, there is a possibility that he won’t be involved in the live-action project at all.

Marvel has also been developing a second season of the ‘What if..?’ animated series, which could see Stern making a cameo as a VO artist. Considering his experience on radio and talk shows, this theory makes more sense than him being part of the new project. For more, we’ll simply have to wait and watch.
